Cartwright Industries, founded by Mr. Cartwright, is an international conglomerate with interests in a variety of industrial enterprises including oil exploration, shipping, retail, resorts and hospitality, and sports entertainment. Cartwright Industries’ private equity group has controlling or minority investments in a wide range of privately-held businesses that encompass manufacturing, precious stones mining, business services, and media/publishing. The goal is to take positions in enterprises that offer the opportunity to leverage operating platforms and resources, both financial and managerial, or provide growth opportunities through capital infusions for execution of strategic initiatives.
Philanthropist
Mr. Cartwright’s philanthropic efforts include contributions to a wide range of causes, predominantly at the local level. Mr. Cartwright is an enthusiastic supporter of local no-kill animal shelters and humane societies, Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation, Friends of the Hunley, Wounded Warrior Project, local Meals on Wheels programs, Saving America’s Mustangs, South Carolina Aquarium, and local homeless shelters. Mr. Cartwright also contributes to scholarship endowments on a selective basis. Mr. Cartwright is working on establishing his own foundation for continued charitable endeavors.
